J-Day 16

Taunton to Okehampton - 52 miles (total so far 911)

We all agree that today was a hard day even though the weather was good to us. Tomorrow's ride to Newquay will be over similar terrain as today but it will be14 miles longer. We are planning to leave by 8:15 to give us more time for cycling.
We were wondering what to put in the blog today. Our lunch stop in Crediton provided some content. When we arrived Barry our support driver had met up with two of Keith's friends who live in Exeter and came to meet us. Christine had spotted a cafe close to where we'd all congregated. The alternative was another Wetherspoons. As some of us were Wetherspoon'd out we opted for the cafe. The cafe owner was interested in our ride and saw an opportunity to get us mentioned in the Crediton Courier and get some advertising for his cafe. So he went to the paper's office and got a reporter to come over and take details of our adventure and also take some photos. We should appear in a forthcoming issue. The reporter will send us all paper copies of the article.
As already mentioned, tomorrow is going to be a long day so the blog post tomorrow either won't get posted or it will be a short one.

  1. The Crediton Courier might censor the photo......or else put it on page 3!
